General description of the project activity

The purpose of the project activity is to install a sequential stage of wastewater
treatment with methane recovery to an existing anaerobic lagoon system without
methane recovery for the treatment of organic wastewater generated by a tapioca
starch manufacturing plant.. The biogas will be used for electricity generation for onsite
consumption that will displace electricity from the grid . The project activity will reduce
GHG emission by:

1. Avoidance of methane emissions from anaerobic decomposition of wastewater
   from the open lagoons treatment system.
2. Displacement of carbon intensive grid power by generating onsite renewable
   energy
