KYOTOenergy adopts preferably a long term position in projects by providing its technological, financial and managerial capabilities to project owners.

Our business model is based on "captive" projects that involve a limited number of partners. Typically one or several industrial partners that need a solution (e.g. an industry generating waste wishing to valorise it to save energy) decide to develop a project to solve their problem. KYOTOenergy takes the lead in the development and structuring of the project as a co-investor or "service provider".

Our flexible approach benefits our clients by releasing them from the burden of developing projects and by sharing the risks involved, while letting them focus on their core activities.

• Bundling: ‘Similar’ projects (simplify the financing, improve returns), that can be repeated by industry sectors (e.g. palm oil mill effluent), geographically and lead to new ‘opportunities’
• Small-medium size projects (investment <10 m€)
• CDM or other ‘Green Certifications’ applicable
• Geographical areas: Europe, Asia and Latin America

• Secondary energy market (biomass to energy): cogeneration, fuel substitution (replacement of heat/cold production and electricity by cogeneration plant in large hotels, buildings, hospitals, industries…)
• Composting of agro-waste (>400 palm oil mills in Malaysia only)
• Methane recovery from anaerobic waste water treatment/landfill
• Biogas recovery (anaerobic wastewater plants and landfill)
• Energy efficiency (heat pumps, energy saving lamps, chillers…)
• Production of pellets/briquettes from biomass residues:  from industries such as palm (empty fruit bunch and shells), rice mills (husk), wood residues
  

• Agro & food industries: palm oil, rice Large energy users (heat, cold, electricity):
• Hospitals, large hotels/buildings, industries
• Wood processing industry: producers of kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, parquet flooring and windows, joinery work and interior decoration, pallets, chipboard refinement

• Less interest in governmental projects!
