Welcome to our trainees to Kuala Lumpur

Two 3rd year students from Ecole des Mines de Nantes, France, a premier French industrial engineering university, joined our Kuala Lumpur Office for industrial training from May – August 2007.

Both the trainees, Matthieu Frappe, a Energy Systems Engineering student and Emlyn Ghennam, a Environmental Engineering student, will be undertaking a study on the “Sustainable development and CDM projects in the palm oil industry in Malaysia” during their 4-month internship with us. Their study will help to define a method to evaluate the sustainability aspects applicable in the palm oil industry. This will assist the host country and project proponents in their decision to evaluate the sustainability of the CDM projects.

While in Kuala Lumpur, Matthieu and Emlyn will also have the opportunity to learn about our people, culture and practices, an important experience in international understanding.

The Kyotoenergy Trainee Development Programme will give students an opportunity to conduct research and develop methodologies in related fields of study. It also aims to prepare young undergraduates with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to induct them in the workplace. Students who are in their final year of study in Environmental Science, engineering or related discipline may apply for traineeship with us. The period of training should be a minimum of 4 – 6 months.
